Fast loading – how do you check? Google has a website where if you put the URL in it will give you:-

4 scores divided into

• Mobile
• Desktop

For Mobile and Desktop there are 4 parameters you are scored on:-

• Performance
• Accessibility
• Best Practice
• SEO

It tends to be easier to get a great score for desktop, but with a bit of effort, one can get a good score for mobile.

Why does it matter?

Google likes to send users to websites which work on all devices and which load quickly. Yes, you can have a website which loads slowly and only works on desktops, but typically that will appear lower down in the search results.
