Brockhill Lane Alvechurch Notes
The objective of this page is to explore and provide a digital record of the drains and issues on the road and who to contact with regard to getting the drains unblocked. The content is a mixture of static pictures and links to Google Maps. Some of these graphics are interactive – you can move down the road with your mouse. Whilst this page does work on a smartphone I would strongly recommend using a desktop / laptop to avoid frustration as it has a number of interactive maps which are hard to scroll past.

Why bother? Keeping the Lane looking “idyllic” is more likely to impress those thinking of having a wedding etc or joining the club, than if it looks like a very wet linear tip.

The drain is in a very woody part of Brockhill Lane and the fact that it was blocked by leaves is absolutely no surprise. Keeping it clear of leaves will reduce the need for the Worcestershire County Council to clear the drain.
For many years this drain was blocked mainly because I think most people had forgotten there was a drain here. There was a sign which said Flood which was permanently near the spot. Unblocking the drain fixed the “flood”. The water flows under the road and out the other side.

The two drains are blocked, but I created a channel into the field and so the water does not tend to pool here.

This is clearly the most associated location where there is a risk of flooding and association with KNGC on Brockhill Lane >>. Shows a variety of photos and videos. Google refers to this location as 939Q+26P Birmingham. Worcestershire CC refers to the drain as
The date on the database is wrong. I wrote to Mr Paul Robinson on 28th October 2024 to thank him for directing the highways maintenance to unblock the drains on Brockhill Lane, which was carried out the week before. The date should read 10/2024.
If you click the View on Google Maps, and then See more dates, and you go back in time and see the drain has been blocked for many years. The oldest photo is 2010, and it is not visible then.
Report a drainage issue on Worcestershire County Council highway. I would allow about 2-months for something to happen based on experience, i.e. do not leave a problem to become a crisis.
