Free can be expensive!
Niche marketing was the buzz phrase in the 80's but, to-day it is not marketing lecturers driving the economy through their graduates but the Google master.
Google constantly asks the question is the relevant to those searching on the Internet?
It is a pretty simple equation relevant equals good. Good translates in to your website being served up on the first page of results and hopefully at the top or near the top.
Google was more forgiving of those advertising on Google Adwords, (the Pay Per Click service) but of late that leniency has given way to relevant being at the heart of the complex algorithm which determines how much it costs you to advertise on Google. That is to say the cost of click throughs is higher and even much, much higher, if Google does not feel your Advert and Website are a good match to what people are searching for.
"Free" can be expensive
The point of this article is... Whilst you could build your own website using one of the so called "free" or "low cost" tools do it yourself websites on the Internet, after a few months you will notice that your site receives little traffic, and advertising your site on Google can be very expensive.
Turning it round a professional web developer will be aware of all the issues and will develop a site which will tick all the relevancy boxes - if you bring them in at an early stage. The end result will be a genuinely great value for money website.
Total Cost of Ownership
A professional purchasing manager will look at the cost of a project over say three years and the cash paid out and the revenue generated or saved. If your so called free or low cost website generates little in the way of revenue and costs a small fortune to advertise on Google Adwords it will cease to be the "most economical" compared to one which brings in business week in week out.
So if you really want a great value for money website, pick someone who really knows the issues and can create a site which is relevant to your organisation and your market place.
If that sounds like the sort of low cost website you are looking for please do get in touch.
